Wall Crack
A crack in your foundation wall could be caused from natural shrinkage of the concrete materials, or it could be a warning sign of a serious structural problem, such as settlement. A thorough inspection from a trained tech from St. Louis Basement Pros will be needed so that we can figure out the best way to go about fixing the problem and preventing it from happening again.
Foundation Problems
If the issue is a result of settlement, then you will also likely notice the following problems in your home:
- Windows and doors are difficult to open or close
- Noticeable sinking can be seen on one or more sides of the home
- Floors feel like they are sinking in spots
- Cracks appear along window and door frames
- Damage to the driveway or basement floor can be seen
Epoxy Injection
If the crack is not caused from a structural problem, we can simply fill and seal it off with epoxy materials. The surface of the wall will be cleaned off so that dirt and debris can’t get inside, and then we will inject the material. This will fill and seal the opening from the earth to the surface of the wall. Curing time is minimal.
Testimonials
Crawl Space Insulation
They did a good job installing insulation in my crawl space. The crew was punctual and professional.
Foundation Repair
We had them come out and perform foundation repair to fix some issues we were having. They also added some downspout extensions to prevent many of the water issues we may have.
Basement Waterproofing
We live in a house with a full basement that was built in 1915. The house has three full stories. We had noticed a new plaster crack in the second story and wanted to be sure the foundation was stable. The representative came, looked at the foundation and basement, and pointed out a few things we could do ourselves to keep the foundation area dryer. He also told us that the plaster crack was caused by settling from the weight of the house on the support beams in the basement (not basement walls). He explained what they could do to improve the support system in the basement and gave us a quote if we wanted to do the work, but was honest enough to tell us that the house was very stable in its present condition, which is what we really wanted to know.
